Mr. Billy W. Hyman, son the late Lottie Hyman Shaw and the late John McWhite gained his
wings to be with the Lord on April 28, 2019.
He attended Gibbs High School and was apart of the class of 1963. He was employed with Pratt
& Whitney as a machine operator for over 30 years. His faithfulness to dedication spoke for itself.
Billy believed in serving the Lord and giving God praise . He attended Mill Branch AME. He
was a member of the ministry called the Sons of Allen Men and a member of the mass choir. He
fellowshipped as a faithful member for 18 years.
Billy also served as a Worship Master Chapter 21, George W. Crawford Lodge from 1991-2001.
He was preceded in death by his father; John McWhite, mother Lottie Hyman Shaw, Dan Shaw
Jr. and Alvin McWhite.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife; Mamie Hyman. Four children; Billy (Renee)
Hyman of New Britain, CT, Kimberley (Jesse) of East Hartford, CT, Melanie (Tim) Hyman of Lawrenceville,
GA and China (Curt) Hyman of New Britain, CT. Thirteen grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Three siblings; John (Gloria) McWhite, Jr of Shreveport, VA; Elizabeth (Tommie) Harrison of Forestville,
MD, Rev. Ben (Pearl) McWhite of Florence, SC, Earl McWhite of Shreveport, LA, Earnest McWhite of
Marion, SC, Gloria (Wendall) Keith of Florence, SC and Jonathon McWhite of Florence, SC. A host of
nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Special thanks to: Patsy Adam, Sheila Harley, Mona Lisa
Andrews, Cynthia McCrae, Roy L McCrae, Willie and Nellie Timmons, Willie Jones, and BC McWhite.
