Debra Ann Goodson Gibson was born May 29, 1970 to the late Levern Lee Lane and Emma
Jean Gunn. The eldest of ten siblings, Debra quickly gained a motherly nature and a heart filled
with undying love for those around her. She was educated in the schools of Timmonsville, South
Carolina where she graduated class of 1989 from Timmonsville High.
On March 5, 1989, Debra was joined in holy matrimony to Mr. Stanley Gibson. This union was
blessed to bear Shanice, Tiffany, an angel baby, Marquel, and Darnisha. Debra’s love for her
children and grandchildren was undeniable. For twenty-nine years, she served as a faithful
member of the Highway Christian Church of Christ, Inc. Although she never carried a specific
title, she helped everyone she could in any way possible, and was later deemed as an honorary
hospitality member requiring big hugs from various members and visitors. She worked tirelessly
for twenty-five years as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Florence County until her health would
no longer allow. As hobbies, Debra found solace in being a seamstress and creating floral
arrangements.
Debra Gibson’s strength, courage, and determination proved to be very real as she fought
through the toughness of illness. On December 16th, 2018, Debra finished her fight as she soared
from labor to reward. She was preceded in death by her father, Levern Lee Lane, her son,
Marquel Ahmad Gibson, and her step-father Robert Gunn.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her husband, Stanley Gibson; three children,
Shanice Gibson, Tiffany (Johnny) Richardson, and Darnisha Gibson, her mother, Emma Jean
Gunn, three God-children; Latoya (Marsden) Alexander, Whitney Davis, Lanise Robinson, five
grandchildren, Jakari Richardson, Kayden Richardson, Antwan Brockington, Peyton
