Obituary
Mr. Ivory L. Joseph, son of the late Clarence Sr. and Lela Mae Joseph, was born June 23,1953. He entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 31, 2019.
Rabbit, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, attended Wilson High School Class of 1971, where he was a member of the Marching Pride band.
He was previously employed for many years as an electrician at CP&L (currently Duke Energy) and was an employee at S&W Manufacturing (Florence, SC) until his health
declined.
He was a passionate musician for over 50 years. He played the trumpet and was a self taught drummer. He had an entrepreneurial spirit, operating Ivory’s Social Club and ILJ
Entertainment. He also performed with the Soul Impossibles, the Mind Expanders and other local bands. Ivory was known as the Legendary DJ Image Maker.
Ivory was a dedicated member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee and a member of the Bus Ministry and Music Ministry, where he played the
drums. He loved his church family.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Windy Joseph Peterson (Tank).Left to cherish his memories are: his devoted wife of 45 years, Evonne Echols Joseph of
the home; seven children: Iris, LaVonda, Tonya, Kimberly, Yousef, Shemeki, and Marlin; nine grandchildren; one expectant great-grandchild; his loyal brother Clarence
(Lillie Mae) Joseph, Jr.; a special cousin, Mitchell (Amy) Pressley; a special niece, Tathetra M. Joseph; a loving sister-in-law, Charlene (Charlie) Goodman; his best friend
and spiritual brother James P. Cade and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and patrons.
