Sister Maxine Ellerbe Stuckey
The life of Sister Maxine Ellerbe Stuckey began on June 30, 1944 in Florence, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Matthew Ellerbe and Sarah Rebecca Bacote Ellerbe. She departed this life on Saturday, December 29, 2019.
She attended the public schools of Florence County and graduated from Wilson High School.
She sought Jesus in her youth. She was a fun, compassionate loving spirit. Maxine was a faithful member of First Eternal Baptist Church in Jamaica, New York. She served as a member of the Eternalistic choir, she also served as a member on the Usher Board.
Maxine returned to her hometown in Florence SC in 1998 . She immediately found a new church home at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Timmonsville South Carolina.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three brothers and her husband.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a son Garland Anthony Hickson of Columbia, SC; a daughter Melissa Michelle Hickson of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Rah’kim Hickson of Atlanta, GA, Jayden Hickson of Florence, SC, Isiah Hickson of Florence, SC, Kaylah Hickson of Rockhill, SC and Micah Jerome Hickson of Columbia, SC, Pareen Cabbagestalk of Columbia SC, RaNiyah Simmons of Columbia, SC; four step children , Josephine Hickson of Timmonsville, SC, Tiffany Willaimson of Columbia, SC, Willie Stuckey and Michael Stuckey of Florence, SC; two brothers, Tommy Ellerbe of Columbia, SC and Nathaniel (Debra) Ellerbe, of Effingham, SC; one aunt, Ann Rebecca Williams of Florence, SC; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
