Pastor Dr. Jessie Gandy Obituary

Dr. Pastor Jessie M Gandy was born on August 28, 1952 in Darlington S.C. She was the daughter of the late Lewis McCall Sr. and late Pastor Elizabeth Johnson McCall. On Sunday morning, February 24, 2019 God quietly call her to his eternal home.

Dr. Gandy was affectionately known to everyone. She never met a stranger. She was often called the hugging pastor greeting you with “Hey darling”. She loved taking pictures. She also loved that big yellow bus. But mostly she love preaching and teaching the word, her church family and just witnessing to the people. If anyone needed prayer and call upon, if she was able to get there she was. Our mom loved unconditional. She loved her family, her friends, her co-workers and anyone she came in contact with.

In the community she gained so much respect because she never looked down on anyone. She would put a prayer down in the road, under the tree or where ever she seen fit to pray. Her realness spoke volumes throughout the Dovesville/Mount Clare communities. She was straight forward with everyone and always had an encouraging word. Dr. Jessie M. Gandy was a true warrior for God with great integrity.

Dr. Gandy was educated in Darlington County Schools. She was a 1970 high school graduate of Mayo High School. She later got her associate degree in accounting from Florence-Darlington Technical College. She also obtained her Bachelors and Master and finished the course at Fisher Hill Bible College where she obtained her Doctor’s Degree. She has completed so many accomplishments and helped so many organizations.

At an early age she joined Mt Sinai Pentecostal Holiness Church where she accepted the lord as her savior. She moved her membership to Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Holiness when her mother became pastoring. She later married and was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church until God called her mother home. She has been pastoring at Mt Calvary Pentecostal Holiness for the past 25 years.

Dr. Gandy was also a dedicated faithful worker for Darlington County as a bus driver for 19 years.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories:
