Alice A. Raymer 85, passed away on March 28, 2022. She was born on November 2, 1936 to the late Samuel Owen Gaines and Florence Johanna Gaines of Champaign, Illinois.

Alice worked in California after high school before returning to Illinois where she worked at the Champaign-Urbana News Gazette until she met her husband Russell Kenneyed Raymer. She and Russell owned an insurance agency in Rice Lake and Eau Claire, Wisconsin for several years.  Alice and Russell moved to Minnesota from Wisconsin and worked in insurance until her retirement in 2014. They traveled the Midwest and East Coast before settling in Florence, South Carolina. She enjoyed fishing, dancing, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Russell K. Raymer of Florence, SC; sons Kevin Raymer (Merilyn) of Virginia Beach, VA and Bradley Raymer (Patrice) of New Hope, MN; daughter Melissa Raymer of Chanhassen, MN; brother Charles Gaines of Albuquerque, NM; sister Susan Hutchison (Robert) of Prairie Farm, WI; and granddaughters Samantha Raymer of Celebration, FL and Meghan Holtman of Virginia Beach, VA.
