Obituary

Geraldine McDaniel, daughter of the late Deacon Dick Timmons and Sadie McNeil Graham, was born July 18, 1946 in Florence County, South Carolina. She entered unto eternal rest on Monday, December 16, 2019. Geraldine was preceded in death by her son Kent McWhite.

Geraldine joined the Aimwell Missionary Baptist Church in Pamplico, S.C. at an early age. She attended Gibbs High School, Pamplico, S.C. She relocated to Philadelphia, Pa, for as brief of time and then returned to South Carolina in 1961. Geraldine dedicated the majority of her professional career to the Pee Dee Community Action Agency, where she was a driver for the elderly and for meals on wheels. She concluded her career with them in 1993 at which time she retired.

Geraldine was affectionally known as ‘Lean and Clean” by immediate family members. Geraldine loved to work and most of all she loved to cook. No one could out cook Geraldine. Geraldine was a loving, simple, straightforward and direct women. She was an active member of the VFW and when she joined the Snow Hill Baptist Church family she immediately went to work serving on numerous committees such as the Usher Board, Missionary Society, Pastor’s Aide, Kitchen Committee, and the Choir.

Left to cherish and keep her memory alive are: two sons: Nickie Allen McDaniel and Chanze McDaniel (of the home), both of Florence; Five grandchildren: Zhaonnek, Josh, London, Logan, and Averi. Five sisters: Renell Fryer and Sharon Timmons-Generette. Of Florence, SC, Mary (Larry) Brayboy, of Lake City, SC, Bertha Timmons, of Sumter, SC, Amanda T. Haynes, of Winston-Salem, NC; five brothers: Wille D. Hardin, Florence, SC, Oral Lee Timmons, Texas City, TX, King I (Terry) Timmons, Pamplico, SC, Reuben Timmons, Scranton, SC, Marshall O’ Neal Timmons, of Collinsville, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
