Laura Susan Gainey was born on November 5, 1951 in Florence, South Carolina to Mrs. Evelyn Hall Gainey and the late Mr. Joseph Clyde Gainey, Sr of Pamplico, South Carolina. She joined Aimwell Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. J.L.Brooks.

Laura graduated from Gibbs High School of Pamplico, South Carolina and Morris College of Sumter,  South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was employed by the Department of Disability and  Special needs until she retired.

Laura was preceded in death by her father Mr. Joseph Clyde Gainey, Sr and her sister Lucy Marie Gainey Floyd.

Laura leaves cherished memories to her mother; Mrs. Evelyn Gainey, her two sons Timothy Clyde and Justin Austin Gainey of Florence, a precious granddaughter Juvaeja Gainey of Florence. Two brothers  JC(Mary) and Robert (Willamenia) Gainey of Pamplico South Carolina. One brother-n-law, Jimmy Floyd  of Conway, South Carolina. Three nieces, four nephews, one aunt Mrs. Mary Jane Hall of Scranton,  South Carolina and two uncles Mr. Jimmy Hall of Detroit, Michigan, Mr. Sammy Brooks of Florence  South Carolina, two special cousins, George and Harry Gainey and a host of relatives and friends.
