Mrs. Lettie Mae Burch Murphy, widow of Tony Murphy and  daughter of the late Rev. Otto and Mrs. Jessie Margarea Burch was born on  April 22, 1935  in  Florence County.  She departed this life on Friday, February 17, 2023 after a brief illness.

Lettie received her formal education in the Florence Public School System. She was a long time employee of Silgan Manufacturer in Connecticut.

Lettie became a member of The House of God Church, Keith Dominion in Pamplico, South Carolina at an early age.

In addition to her husband and parents, Lettie was preceded in death by her son, Franklin Brown; two sisters, Martha Durant and Annie Lee Brown;  four brothers: Ernest C. Burch, William J. Burch, Moses Burch, and George Burch.

Lettie leaves to cherish her precious memory: her daughter, Patricia Scipio of Florence, SC; two sisters, Mary Woods of Florence, SC and Margaret Mc’Elveen of Pamplico, SC; one brother, Thomas Burch of Middletown, Connecticut; one sister-in-law, Georgette Burch of Terryville, Connecticut; one brother-in-law, Curtis Durant of Pamplico, SC.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and  friends.
