Mary Frances Patterson Gardner, was born on May 28, 1952 to the union of the late Moses Jenkins, Sr. and Frances Knox Jenkins Patterson in Effingham, SC.

Mary received her formal education through Darlington County Public Schools.

She joined Wesley United Methodist Church in Florence where she worked diligently and faithfully to serve the Lord. She was a member of the usher board at Wesley United. Mary held various job positions throughout her life. She enjoyed talking, laughing and getting to know people but most of all she loved her family.

Mary Frances Patterson Gardner departed this life on Friday, January 29, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father, Moses Jenkins, Sr.; her mother Frances Knox Jenkins Patterson; her husband, Ishmael Gardner; her brother, Anthony McFadden; and her daughter, Sharon Patterson Jackson.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her sons Tony (Carlita) Patterson of Lamar, SC; Timothy Martin Patterson of Charleston, SC; Three sisters: Elnora Patterson of Hartsville, SC; Joyce Teague of New Jersey; Eula McFadden of Charleston, SC; Four brothers: Moses (Joyce) Jenkins, Jr. of Effingham, SC; Levon Knox of Charlotte, NC; Leon (Susan) Knox of Charlotte, NC; David Knox of Charlotte, NC; and her grandchildren: Shanekqua (Dawnley) Joseph of Charlotte, NC; Delonta Jackson and Vontaesha Jackson of Effingham, SC; and Tierra Jada-Nicole Patterson of Lamar, SC. A special Friend Danyell Brown and Special Family member Marie Jenkins.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
