Mr. Winfred James Peterson, son of Mr. Mose and Rosa Lee Peterson, was born on July 11, 1955 in Florence, South Carolina. He was called into early eternal rest on Sunday, February 24, 2019.

“Wilbert” or “Pete” as affectionately called by family and friends, attended Wilson High School. He was loved by many for his passion for cooking and feeding others. He was formerly employed as a warehouse supervisor at Ferguson Enterprises in Atlanta, GA.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, McKever Peterson, Matthew Peterson, Boyd Peterson and Elliott Peterson and one sister, Margaret “Seal” Peterson Davis. He is also preceded in death by a special niece, Andrea LaShawn Abraham.

Left to cherish his love and memories are: his wife, Wanda Peterson, his children; Montrez Johnson, Tianeka Jackson, Atara Howard and Sierra Rogers; eight grandchildren; Tajahn, Tanaijah, Talaijah, Kae’Rell, Kareena, Dosson, Tyshawn and London; three great grandchildren; four sisters, Lillian Holloway of Baltimore, MD, Eloise Bridges, Mazie Abraham both of Florence, SC, Amy P. Dennis of Decatur, GA; Mose Peterson of Columbia, SC, Levern (Pam) Sims of Florence, SC; his aunt Amy Wright of Winston Salem, NC; mother and father in-law Aaron (Claudia) Davis; a special friend and longtime neighbor, Ettaphine Scott of Florence, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
