Early Sunday morning September 6, 2020, Barbara Ann Davis peacefully slept away and went home to meet her Maker after her illness.
On October 30, 1946 in Florence County, Barbara Ann was born to union of John Owen Davis and Hattie Louise Jones. She was the oldest child of five born to these dedicated parents.
At an early age, Barbara Ann accepted Christ as her Savior. She joined Spring Branch Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health declined.
She was affiliated with the following religious and fraternal organizations: a former Adult Sunday School Teacher, Clerk, and Goodwill Chapter #107 Order of Eastern Star where she served as past Worthy Matron. She enjoyed doing things in her church, community and visiting the sick and shut-in.
Barbara Ann was a good mother, sister, aunt, great aunt, and she was loved by all who knew her. She was formerly employed with Florence County Head Start for many years. She then worked with JC Penny and K-mart. She also served as a Florence School District 2 substitute until her health declined. She loved children they were her passion.
She was preceded in death by her parents (John & Hattie Davis), child (Barron L Davis), and 2 siblings (Joyce Virginia and Willie Clyde “WC”; one child Barron L. Davis.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories: 2 siblings, Sarah D Gordon of Pamplico and John Davis (Sandra) of Effingham, SC; Nieces and nephews Harold Davis of Fayetteville NC, Jason (Sandra) Gordon of Effingham, SC April Gordon of Pamplico and Tonya Smith, John Taiwan Davis, Dawnecia Davis all of Florence, SC. She also leaves four special friends and confidants Louvenia McAllister and Annie McAllister both of Effingham, SC, Minnie Lee Timmons, Mary Alma Gordon, of Pamplico along with a host of great nieces, nephews, and other friends.
