Fred Cleveland Boatwright, affectionately known as Fred C. or Scoop ‘Em Up was born on January 13, 1953 to Robert and Katie Davis Boatwright in Florence County. He was called to his eternal home on March 14, 2020.
Fred was educated in the Brittons-Neck School system. He was employed for many years at Thomas & Howard Co. He was a jack of all trades but master of none. He was always willing to help out if he could. Fred had a zest for life; he loved to dance and have fun.
He met and married the love of his life, Margaret Lee Baccus on June 6, 1981. They were married for 36 years. From this union they have four beautiful children.
Fred was baptized in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ and joined Pentecostal United Church of Christ, under the leadership of Apostle Fred Graham. He later alongside his wife, supported the founding vision and mission of Anointed Word Bibleway Church where Pastor Tommy Milo is Pastor.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Margaret Lee Baccus Boatwright, parents, Mr. Robert and Mrs. Katie Davis Boatwright, siblings; Nolie Davis, Charles Boatwright, Lory Daniels, Robert Boatwright and James Boatwright.
Left to cherish fond memories are children; Quadetra L. Baccus, Shelley L. (Shalik) James, Fredrica B. (DeWayne) Crawford and G. Rayshawn Grant all of Florence SC, five grandchildren; DeVonta L. Baccus, Taylor L. Baccus, Bryce L. James, Gary R. Grant Jr., Fredrick D. Crawford; two great grandchildren, Camille Lynette Baccus and Madyson L. Baccus, two brothers; Alfred (Carrie) Boatwright of Stratford CT, and Robert H. Boatwright of Florence, SC.; two sisters; Safaronia Pendergrass and Jeanette Woodberry both of Florence SC; in-laws, John Baccus, Brenda Baccus, Terry (Deborah) Baccus, Maxine Baccus, Jasper Baccus, Falicia (Bernard) Scott, Norecer Harley and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
