James Lewis Woods Sr.

              Deacon James Lewis Woods, Sr. was 69 years old from Pamplico, SC.  He entered eternal rest surrounded by family on 2/11/2021. 

Deacon James Lewis Woods, Sr. was born 2/02/1952 in Florence, SC to Mary Woods and the late Louis Woods. 

 James was preceded in death by his son Michael James Woods and his brother Calvin Woods. 

James was a pillar of strength and courage for his family. He loved the Lord and gave fully to him through his services he rendered and the life he lived. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior in 1992. 

Deacon James Woods was employed by Charles Ingram Lumber Company for 45 years.  James was a dedicated member of Genesis Baptist Church.  He served on the Deacon and Trustees Boards.  He was a Sunday School teacher with a passion for God's Word.  He ministered at Commander Nursing Home for over 25 years.

James was united in holy matrimony to Joyce Kelly on April 8, 1972.  To this union five children were born.

Left to cherish his precious memories includes his wife: Joyce Woods of 48 years, daughters: Angela Denese (Gerald Canty) of Sumter, SC; Felicia (Tony) Simon of Florence, SC; 2 sons: James Louis Woods Jr and Kelly (Latrice) Woods both of Florence SC;  5 grandchildren: Tikirra Janna Woods, Aubrey London Simon, Kandis Madison Woods, Damoya March and Jeremy McGill; One great grandchild Raelynn Zoey Woods; 2 sisters Mary (JC) Gainey of Pamplico SC, Ree Nettles of Florence SC, one brother: Melvin Woods of Florence SC and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
