Linda “Pop” Mumford , was born October 29, 1961 in Florence County, the daughter of the late Cecil and Ruby Lee Alexander Mumford. She entered into her final resting place on Friday April 3rd, 2020 at Mcleod Regional Medical Center of Florence, SC after a sudden illness.
Linda attended South Florence High School in Florence County. She joined Monumental Baptist Church at an early age. She was a charter member, a member of the Willing Workers, the kitchen committee and the monthly food drive distribution for the church.
She loved talking on the phone, cooking and entertaining family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers Evans May, Cecil Mumford Jr. and Mckever “Johnny” Mumford and two sisters, Betty Mumford and Doris Mumford.
Survivors left to cherish her precious memories include: one son, LaQawan Mumford of the home , one daughter, Lakeyda Mumford of Florence SC; Two gradsons Chrishaun Washington and DaVon Mumford; Four granddaughters; London , Zaiyah, Javae, and Paris Mumford all of Florence, SC ; One godson Antonio Perry, One brother; Robert Mumford of the home; Two sisters; Melissa M. (Jameel) Salaam of Charlotte NC, and Lynette Mumford of Florence SC;two step grandsons LaShawn and DeShawn Peoples of Florence, SC. Special nieces and nephews whom she helped rear LaVone, LaShawn, Ronjia, Daveon and Davonte Mumford all of Florence, SC, One sister in law; Sarah May Of Florence, SC. Two aunts; Gladys A. Smoot of Richmond, VA and Elizabeth Alexander of Florence, SC. Godmother, Ms. Magdalene Barr of Florence, SC. Goddaughter Rachel Austin of Florence, SC. Two special cousins; Mary M. Nettles and Richard Alexander both of Florence, SC. And a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives, family and friends.
