Marie G. Johnson was born to the late Norman and Christine George on April 8, 1930 in Red Springs, North Carolina. She went to sleep on April 2, 2020, waiting for the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Marie grew up in the Claussen Community and attended Florence County public schools. She was a housekeeper for over 40 years. She had many talents such as cooking, (her cakes, biscuits, pancakes were the best; and of course, they were from scratch). She could be found fixing electrical appliances and tending to her flowers. “A Jill of all Trades!”
Marie was a faithful member of Oakland Avenue Seventh-day Adventist Church, which is now Shekinah Glory Seventh-day Adventist Church for 47 years. She served as the Head Usher, Community Service leader, Deaconess, and a member of the senior choir. She was a soldier for Christ. She gladly followed the commission to all Christian believers to share the “Good News.” She enjoyed sharing the love of Jesus with everyone she met. Marie spent many days witnessing and giving Bible studies. She moved to Charlotte, NC in 2012 and became a member of the Northeast SDA Church where she served as a deaconess.
Marie was married to the late James Johnson. She loved her children, family, and friends. She was intensely loyal. Marie was a true prayer warrior.
