Mae Ellen Williams was born and raised in Society Hill, SC. She was born to Mr. Willie and Adlena Coit–McIver. During her youth, she was a member of Mt. Rona Missionary Baptist Church in Society Hill, SC.
Later in life, Mae moved her family to Florence, SC and joined Pentecostal Temple C.O.G.I.C under Bishop Joe Howard Sherman located at 407 South John Street. She was an ordained mother and missionary under his leadership.
The church built a new foundation on the same property that was then addressed as Pine Street. Down through the years with the church jurisdiction and pastoral leadership changes, Mae Williams and family relocated to the Tower of Prayer under the pastoral leadership of Bishop Phillip R. Glenn. When mother's health began to decline and for the love of family and close friends, she relocated to fellowship with everyone and to keep peace among all. Mrs. Mae was active with St. Jude Apostolic church under the pastoral leadership of Bishop. Julius Parrott. Later she fellowship with her son Bishop Floyd McIver at The Word of Deliverance Church and in her later days she fellowship and joined with youngest son; Elder Lorenzo McIver at Glorious Apostolic Church of Darlington, SC.
Preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Adlena McIver, brothers; Robert McIver and John McIver; and children; Evan McIver, Christine McIver and John Henry McIver.
Surviving to cherish her memories are her loving children; Bishop Floyd (Fiona) McIver of Uganda, Africa and Elder Lorenzo (Kathleen) McIver of Florence, SC. A host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other close relatives and friends.
